Base from ”Sparkling”

The base jumpers are basically having to much fun to compete!

"Sparkling" was used as the exit point during today’s base jumping in Gudvangen. This exit is situated approximately 1000 meters east from Nebbet, which is the exit spot normally used for the base jumping during Ekstremsportveko.

The scheduled Base Race were cancelled due to wind, but the base jumpers got up in time to throw themselves out from ”Sparkling” before the wind got to heavy.

According to Paul Fortun, head of the arrangement in Gudvangen, the base jumpers had a real good time despite the cancelled race.

– The base jumpers are basically having to much fun to compete, Fortun says.

The spectators could witness the base jumpers come flying down the valley from the same spot as usual. Great numbers of curious people came to witness the popular and audience friendly sport while their cars were parked in creative ways alongside the road.
