Stand up for Portugal

Caroline Mølgaard Onarheim and Markus Wegge won today’s Stand Up Surfboard contest. The big prize was a one-week stay in Portugal at Lapoint Surfcamp.

The participants had to stand balanced on their surfboards, then paddle the distance around the fountain and then return to the starting point.  In the men class, Wegge from Hurum ended at a superior first place as he crossed the finish line, standing on his head on the board.

-        What I like the most about Veko is that hundreds of people have scheduled a whole week, only to play and have fun, Wegge says.

His excellent balance probably comes from three years of surfing. When Wegge is not at Veko, he’s studying outdoor life at Bø University College.
